少人数制の親密なクラスで英語を学ぶ
外国人講師が指導するレッスンでは、正しい発音を聞く機会（インプット）があり、レッスン中に話したり会話をしたりする前に講師から理解を深める機会（アウトプット）もあります。
In our foreign-teacher led lessons students have the opportunity to listen to the correct sounds of speech (INPUT) as well as having their understanding reinforced by the teacher before speaking and holding conversations within the lesson.
スパイラル学習
明治の「スパイラルラーニング」システムは、学習を繰り返すことで理解を強化し、レッスンを楽しむことにつながる自信を育み、生徒のコミュニケーション能力を高めるのに役立ちます。
Meiji’s ‘Spiral Learning’ system helps increase students’ communicative abilities by recycling learning in order to reinforce comprehension and create confidence which leads to enjoyment of the lessons.
独自のオリジナルカリキュラム
低学年（1年生と2年生）では、簡単な英語表現（Let’s Talk）、ロールプレイの会話、英語の文字の正しい音と名前（フォニックス）を学びます。
In the lower grades (Grades 1 and 2) the students learn simple English expressions (Let’s Talk), role play dialogues and the correct sounds and names of English letters (i.e. phonics).
中学年（3年生と4年生）では、総合的なフォニックス（Phonics Life）と英会話（Let’s Talk Elementary）を学びます。また、読書プログラムも開始します。
In the middle grades (Grades 3 and 4) the students learn comprehensive phonics (Phonics Life) as well as English conversation (Let’s Talk Elementary). They also begin their reading programme.

Global School
外国人との交流を通じて、学生は多様な文化的視点に触れることができ、国際社会への理解が深まるとともにコミュニケーション能力も向上します。
Through interactions with foreign nationals students will be exposed to diverse cultural perspectives which further develops their understanding of international communities as well as increasing their communication skills.
英語劇
English School Play
小学2年生の英語劇は、生徒たちが英語を学ぶ楽しさを体験できる場です。しかも、大舞台で！学んだ知識を活かし、20分間の劇を英語で上演します。ハリウッド作品の舞台にきっと感動するはずです。
The Grade 2 English school play is where students can experience the fun of learning English – but on the big stage!! Using the knowledge they have acquired during their homework study they will perform a twenty-minute play all in English. We can all be impressed by our Hollywood productions.
英語コンテスト
English Contests
明治学園在学中、児童たちはコンテスト（第1学期：暗唱コンテスト、第2学期：スペリングコンテスト、第3学期：スピーチコンテスト）に参加することで、英語の知識を広げる機会を得られます。これは児童たちにとって、学習の達成感と自己肯定感を得るために自分自身に挑戦する機会となるため、重要な節目となります。
Throughout their time at Meiji Gakuen students have the opportunity to expand their knowledge of English by taking part in our contests (Term 1: Recitation Contest; Term 2: Spelling Contest; Term 3: Speech Contest). This is an important milestone for students because they can challenge themselves in order to feel a sense of achievement and a personal acknowledgement of academic learning.
英語読書プログラム
Oxford Reading Tree (OUP)
この教材はイギリスの多くの小学校で使われている、物語を通して英語を学ぶ絵本シリーズです。
This teaching material is a series of picture books to learn English through stories. Many of these are used in elementary schools in the United Kingdom.
絵本の世界を楽しみながら、英語の「読む・聞く・話す」力をバランスよく伸ばしていきます。
These OUP stories are made easy to understand by a world of pictures. This increases the students’ English abilities in reading, listening, and speaking.
