『自然災害と防災・減災』チームは、９月１４日に「高校生のための防災意識啓発プラン（益城町巡検）」を開催しました。今回の企画は、SDGsに資する企画であるということで、北九州市の後援事業として認められました。北九州市内にある小倉・戸畑・北九州・北九州市立と明治学園の５校から30名の高校生が参加し、2016年熊本地震の被災地である益城町を一緒に訪問しました。

益城町では、「被災経験講話」・「東無田スタディツアー」・「テクノ仮設団地の仮設住宅見学」・「国　天然記念物　布田川断層帯の見学」により、「被災地の今」を体感することができ、防災・減災意識を高めることの重要性を改めて感じました。また、５校の高校生が一緒に被災地を訪問したことによって、北九州市の未来を担う高校生が「自然災害に対する防災・減災意識を向上させるために何ができるか」を議論できる貴重な機会となりました。

『自然災害と防災・減災』チームは、このような機会を通して、SDGsのGoal4・Goal11・Goal17に向けての取り組みを継続的に実施したいと考えています。

On September 14th, Meiji Gakuen High School students who belong to the group of disaster prevention and risk reduction against natural disasters visited Mashiki town in Kumamoto with 30 students from Kokura High School, Tobata High School, Kitakyushu High School and Kitakyushu City High School.  Because of the activities connection to the SDGs,  some assistance from Kitakyushu city.

In Mashiki, we had some lectures by disaster victims, visited temporary houses, and observed surface ruptures along the Futagawa fault caused by 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake. It was a valuable opportunity for high school students to learn about the disaster prevention and risk reduction.

Through holding such events, we want to work on the achievement of “Goal 4”, “Goal 11”, “Goal 17” of the SDGs.
